I have always been a fan of little people, ever since I was one myself. I was the neighborhood babysitter, the aunt that cared for and hung out with the kids, the best friend that was there during labor. After having my own children, (who are now young adults) taking child development classes, and working with children on a daily basis in a nursery school setting, I came to realize that caring for children and helping them grow through all the developmental stages was definitely what I wanted to do. I’ve been a licensed childcare provider since 2009. Here at Extended Family Child Care, I consider all my families and my staff to be a part of my Extended Family, hence the business name. I create a safe, warm, fun, loving Home Away From Home environment for your children to grow, play, and learn. We would love to have your family join ours.

EXTENDED FAMILY CHILD CARE
It is important that children feel they are a welcome part of not only their own family unit, but also of their "extended families" (i.e. friends, school, daycare, church, etc.) Today, a child's family may take on many forms, all of which are of equal importance to the child.
I believe that family childcare is a very important extension of you and your child's family. As your child becomes involved in the daily routines they will see the connections between home and family childcare in a friendly and supporting way. A flexible daily program will respond to the needs and interests of the children, individually, and in group settings.
By encouraging children to learn and develop at their own level they will gain the confidence of self-importance. Give them guidance and understanding and they will have the opportunity to explore their world in a safe and controlled environment.

But Maria made me feel comfortable and confident in her abilities immediately: she was licensed, she had experience in child development, she had an emergency plan, and she truly loved her littles as if they were her own. Nearly three years later, I cannot imagine life without Maria. My son has a huge vocabulary, he is super social, and he has met all of his milestones early. He and we have made lifetime friends with the other families in Maria's care. I cannot recommend Maria and Extended Family more!
Our second child was a late bloomer…but three days after being at Extended Family, he blossomed like a flower! He started crawling, then standing and verbalizing. Our only regret is not sending him there sooner! We highly recommend Extended Family.
